town-center-palm-coastOn Florida’s Atlantic Coast, one can find Palm Coast.  It is bordered by Daytona Beach and St. Augustine.  It houses majority of the people living in Flagler County, which is one of the most widely known and fastest growing counties in the USA.

The most noteworthy and major development project in real estate in Flagler County is the Town Center in Palm Coast.  The whole project covers a 1557-acre area between Rt. 100 and I-95, Belle Terre Parkway; and is targeted to be finished by the year 2020.

On this wide expanse, a total of 30 development tracts are targeted.  These consist of industrial, commercial and residential sites. 2005 saw the beginning of infrastructure work for Town Center and is now finished.  The Town Center is conveniently located in close proximity to the hospital, county airport and high school and is the projected new downtown for Palm Coast.

Background

In 1999, ITT Corporation of US purchased a 40,000+acre parcel in Flagler County.  It aimed to build a city that would be recognized for its business, trade and commercial centers, resorts, hotels and golf courses.  Thus, roads, water supply and sewage systems were developed accordingly.

Status Update

With these improvements, Palm Coast’s populace increased and its reputation grew.  These attracted more business and commercial investments, which in turn resulted to bigger residential, business and commercial projects.  For instance, the Town Center, a new city hall, new fire stations and parks are being built, while preserving environmentally sensitive lands and the naturally beauty of the area.

Twenty three projects for the Town Center are ongoing to date.  These are some of the plans for the area:

  • 2500 units of residential houses
  • 3,400,000 sq. ft. land for commercial purposes 
  • 1,400,000 sq. ft. land for office use
  • 480 lodging units
  • 240-seat capacity cinema
  • 240-bed capacity nursing home
  • 625,000 sq. ft. of Institutional Land.

The Town Center’s potential is high.  Urbanization is well underway, thanks to the developers that made it possible for banks, shopping centers and the like to be built. The popular and reputable retail company, Target has opened a Super Target store, Red Lobster; Olive Garden has opened restaurants here as well as Michael’s, Ross, McDonalds, Publix and a slew of others. Restaurants and hotels can lease large portions of land to build on.  Local health care providers are enjoying a new home as a new medical complex is nearing completion.

The Town Center is expected to be a buzzing downtown with many reputable companies and investors taking interest.  It is, thus, a wise investment decision to place your money on the Town Center properties.
